The director admitted that he expected the film to cross bigger box office numbers. “I imagined applause… I heard it in theatres. I manifested laughter… I heard it in theatres. But still, the benchmark of 100 crores wasn’t touched,” he shared honestly. Despite the mixed results, Vignesh Shivan said he remained proud of the journey. “Here I stand. Not broken. Not shaken. But proud… deeply proud,” he added in his heartfelt message.

In the same note, Vignesh Shivan also revealed that the film faced many unseen struggles before its release. “Behind this film were battles no one saw. Sleepless nights. Silent fears. And a thousand hurdles only I could feel,” he wrote. According to the filmmaker, even though the film did not fully match his expectations commercially, he still considers its release a personal victory. He also explained that a major portion of the film’s earnings came after people initially doubted the project.
