Ganga Dussehra holds a great religious significance among Hindus. The day is celebrated to commemorated the birth anniversary of Goddess Ganga. It is believed that Goddess Ganga descended on earth on this auspicious day that’s why it is celebrated as Ganga Dussehra. Devotees worship the Ganga and take a holy bath in the river. It is believed that Ganga water cleanses the body, mind, and soul and can eliminate negativity. After bathing in the sacred Ganga on this day, devotees can atone for past transgressions. Goddess Ganga is regarded as the living goddess, who is nurturing. Devotees get engaged in various puja rituals and spiritual activities from donating food to taking bath in Ganga river. Doing donation and charity is considered meritorious. Taking a holy bath in Ganga river is believed to bring exceptional blessings.
