UPSC Releases CDS 2 Final Result 2024: 349 Candidates Shortlisted for Defence Services

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the final results of the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination 2, 2024. 349 candidates have been shortlisted on the basis of their performances at the written examination and the follow-up Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews.

Details of the Results
The UPSC held the CDS 2 test to appoint candidates to prestigious defence colleges, such as the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Air Force Academy (AFA). The merit list has been prepared in view of the combined marks of the written examination and SSB interviews. The last choice is dependent on the candidates fulfilling all criteria, including document verification and medical standards.

Breakdown of Candidates
The outcomes represent the number of recommended successful candidates for various academies:

IMA, Dehradun – Candidates have been chosen from the merit list from the written examination and interviews held by the SSB.

INA, Ezhimala – The selected candidates have qualified in both the written test and interview phase.

AFA, Hyderabad – The merit list consists of candidates who have performed exceptionally well in both the written test and SSB interview.

Provisional Status
The commission has explained that the results of certain candidates are provisional. Their final selection will be subject to the verification of necessary certificates, educational qualifications, date of birth, and other documents as required. The commission will inform the candidates whose documents are pending submission.

Final Steps and Training
The candidates who cleared the CDS 2 examination will now proceed to training in their respective academies. Training will be given to them to prepare them for their duties in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The qualified candidates’ marks will be announced on the UPSC official website once the results of the Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) are declared.

How to Check Results
Aspirants can verify the results on the UPSC official website by accessing the PDF file with roll numbers and names of the shortlisted candidates. They are requested to keep an eye on more updates about training and joining instructions.

Future Opportunities
The CDS exam is among the most competitive defence recruitment in India. It provides a platform to young aspirants to serve the country as commissioned officers. The success of the candidates proves their hard work and dedication to serve in the Indian Armed Forces.

Conclusion
The UPSC CDS 2 final result is an important milestone for the candidates who have been chosen as they are one step closer to achieving their dream of joining the armed forces. Those candidates who have not cleared the exam are advised to continue preparing for the next attempts.
