Dr. S.D. Singh’s contribution to forest conservation goes far beyond routine administration. He has played an instrumental role in the creation and development of several Biodiversity Parks across Deoghar and Dumka districts of Jharkhand, transforming urban and semi-urban spaces into thriving ecological hubs.
Under his guidance and vision, green initiatives took concrete shape in the form of Digharia Biodiversity Park, Deoghar, Taru Chintan Park, Deoghar, Karnibag City Park, Deoghar, Dumka Biodiversity Park, and Chutonath Park, Dumka. These parks are not just landscaped areas — they are living ecosystems designed to conserve native flora, support wildlife habitats, and create awareness among the public about biodiversity preservation.
It is estimated that more than 20 to 25 lakh plants have been planted under his supervision and guidance across different forest ranges and community areas with proper protection.
Dr. Singh strongly believes that conservation must be visible and accessible to people. By developing these parks, he has ensured that environmental education is not confined to books or seminars but experienced directly by citizens, students, and families. These green spaces serve as ecological lungs for their respective districts, promoting clean air, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable urban planning.
Each project reflects his commitment to blending environmental protection with community engagement. The parks stand today as symbols of structured planning, ecological sensitivity, and long-term vision. They provide platforms for awareness programs, eco-tourism, and environmental learning for future generations.
Through these initiatives, Dr. S.D. Singh has demonstrated that true conservation leadership lies not only in protecting forests deep within reserve areas but also in creating sustainable green spaces within communities. His work in Deoghar and Dumka continues to leave a lasting environmental legacy for Jharkhand.
