The moon sighting is expected to happen on March 19, 2026 and if that actually happens, Eid will be celebrated on March 20, 2026. The official announcement is made after the moon sighting.
What to do after sighting the crescent Moon:
It is said that when the moon is sighted then people immediately start celebrating and sending wishes to each other and their loved ones. This is called as pre Eid celebration and known as chand raat. This is the night which is full of joy and happiness. Women apply mehendi on their hands and start preparing different dishes and desserts.
Eid Ul Fitr 2026 : Celebration
Eid Ul Fitr is usually known as Meethi Eid, which is celebrated for three days long days and people enjoy this these days with their family, friends and loved ones by distributing sweets, giving them wishes, and visiting their relatives. The day starts by waking up early in the morning, taking bath, wearing nice clean clothes and offering prayers of namaz. They get engaged in charitable deeds such as feeding the needy ones, giving them money, clothes and other useful items.
