Kevin Hart responds to backlash of his roast following criticism of Tony Hinhcliffe's jokes; says, 'We move on'

Kevin Hart, the renowned comedian-actor, opened up about the severe backlash following his roast episode. Addressing the controversial sets of jokes, particularly those by Tony Hinchcliffe, the 46-year-old emphasised that viewers need to move on rather than stand on the hill. While Hart affirmed that the jokes were distasteful, he stated that the events did not need to be a huge scandal.

What happened at Kevin Hart’s roast show?

Kevin Hart was the centre of attention for ‘The Roast Show,’ where many comedians, actors, and personalities took turns to roast the comedian, including Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Pete Davidson, and Tom Hardy. However, Tony Hinchcliffe’s material did not sit right with the audience, as it involved the late George Floyd, who passed away due to racial injustice.

Hart opined that the jokes were not tasteful, but they were not surprising either, adding that Hinchcliffe had arguably one of the best jokes written for the show. “Tony told a joke,” the ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ actor said during his appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ before adding, “It wasn’t a tasteful joke to us. We didn’t like it. Okay. We move on. I don’t understand why we stand on a hill, and it becomes this big thing. It doesn’t have to be that. It literally is; either you’re a fan of this level of content, or you’re not. And if you’re not a fan, then you don’t watch it.”Pointing out another instance from the show, Hart claimed that he would not tell Pete Davidson’s joke about Charlie Kirk either. Claiming that he knows what their style of comedy has been, he said, “But do I get why they’re being told? Yes. I’m not looking at Pete crazy. I’m not looking at Tony crazy.” Furthermore, the actor stated that he would not be compromising the live production for the reactions.
