However, the actor only took around USD 500,000 for the first film as per the report. With ‘Iron Man 2’, he earned around USD 10 million. For the third film in the series, his earnings increased tenfold, standing at USD 70 million. As of right now, he has earned around USD 345.5 million from many of the Marvel films where he portrayed Iron Man on the big screen.

He was born on April 4, 1965, in New York City, and from an early age was heavily influenced by the world of filmmaking and acting. His father was a writer, actor, and director, while his mother, Elsie Ann Downey, was an actress. As he grew older, he went through a lot of hardships, and even dropped out of high school in order to pursue acting seriously. He worked in theatre, following which he scored his first role on TV as a minor character on ‘Saturday Night Live.’In his early years, he battled with drug addiction, much like his father, and from 1996 to 2001, he was arrested on various charges on multiple occasions. He returned with ‘Ally McBeal’, however, was fired from the show because of another arrest.
