During the electrifying 2026 Oscars, Teyana Taylor made headlines not just for her film ‘One Battle After Another’ clinching Best Picture, but for a dramatic backstage showdown with a security guard. After being jostled, she boldly addressed the situation, asserting her unwillingness to accept disrespectful behavior.

Teyana Taylor addressed a backstage clash with a security guard after the 2026 Oscars, saying she does not accept “disrespect” after a tense moment caught on video spread online. The incident happened after ‘One Battle After Another’ won Best Picture at the March 15 ceremony at the Dolby Theatre. Video circulating after the show appeared to capture Taylor confronting a man she said had shoved her while people moved around the stage area. Taylor later said she was fine, but made clear that the contact crossed a line for her.

As Page Six reported, the confrontation happened after the ceremony as Taylor tried to head back toward the stage area with Warner Bros. executives for a group photo. The report said Taylor accused the guard of shoving her and objected to being touched during the crowded post-show moment. People and Vanity Fair also reported that the exchange happened backstage after ‘One Battle After Another’ closed the night as the top winner. In the viral footage, Taylor can be heard saying, “Do not shove me. Do not touch me. Do not push me.” In another line reported across outlets, she says, “You’re a man putting your hands on a female.” The video showed her visibly upset as people around her tried to calm the situation. A witness quoted by Page Six said the guard physically stopped Taylor, and the situation escalated fast in the packed area.

Taylor later downplayed the broader fallout when speaking to TMZ, while still standing by her reaction. According to reports cited by Page Six and People, she said, “Security was just doing a lot” and added, “There’s always that one.” She also said, “I’m perfectly fine. I’m happy,” before stressing, “I just don’t tolerate disrespect, especially when it’s unwarranted and unprovoked.” A security firm involved later apologized and said it had addressed the matter internally. The incident unfolded on a major night for Taylor.
