On March 9, Mahomes took to his social media account to post two photos of himself and Travis Kelce amid reports of him returning to the Kansas City Chiefs. The post consisted of the two players on the field wearing their full gear as they looked at one another. He posted the photos on his socials along with a cryptic caption containing a time clock emoji, as well as a bow and arrow emoji. His wife, Brittany Mahomes, also showed her support. She took to her account to reshare the post, and even shared the video, which was posted by the NFL, confirming that Kelce would be making a return for his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs. Earlier in January, while featuring on the ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, the NFL player had expressed that he had been contemplating a lot about his future in football. He cited his performance in the 13th season and shared that it was a tough way to go out. He further added, “[I’m] just being a regular human for a couple weeks, maybe a month or so, trying to figure out what I’m gonna do next in terms of my future in football.”

As per the latest reports shared by Daily Mail, ‘Opalite’ singer Taylor Swift has been termed as one of the main reasons why Kelce chose to return for his 14th season rather than retiring. A statement from the report shared that the singer and the football player have delayed their wedding plans for the time being. “She is focusing on positivity right now, but she wants him to be in a place where he is happy because, at the end of the day, that will make them happy,” mentioned the report. In January, Kelce also talked about how Swift has managed to become one of his greatest supporters as well. While featuring on Stephen A. Smith’s show, he shared that “She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the games and cheering for me, so I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams. Personally, I think that’s the beauty of being in a very strong relationship, that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft. Focus on being the best version of you.”
