Dr. Sahil Singh: The Youngest Indian Ambassador in the UN Framework Driving Global Change Through Nutrition & Diplomacy

It is a period when the world is dealing with many problems such as hunger, malnutrition, and discrimination of people without enough food. The emergence of Dr. Sahil Singh as one of the upcoming personalities among the new generation of India striving to create sustainable humanitarian solutions to the existing challenges facing humanity is, therefore, timely. Born and raised in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, Dr. Sahil Singh’s success story from an Indian city to global diplomat and humanitarian forums reflects his vision towards global development.

Aged as one of the youngest diplomats of India connected to the UN, Dr. Sahil Singh is currently serving as the Ambassador of Strategic Partnership and UN SDGs for IIMSAM, a body working under the United Nations ECOSOC to help fight malnutrition using Spirulina microalgae. The ambassador’s contribution to raising awareness on nutrition and sustainability has brought him many accolades globally.

In addition to the above responsibilities, Dr. Sahil Singh is also the Permanent Representative of the Africana Women Working Group (AWWG) at the UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Further to this, he has served as an Ambassador for the Pan African Intergovernmental Agency for Water and Sanitation for Africa and Advisor & Special Envoy to the African Union Sixth Region. This speaks highly of his diplomatic, sustainable development, international relations, and policy-making activities within these international positions.

The early career experiences of Dr. Sahil Singh included work in the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), which is an autonomous body within India’s Ministry of Communication & Information Technology. It was his first exposure to technology, administration, and governance that shaped his multidimensional perspective in addressing global issues. In addition to this, between 2016 and 2017, he worked as a Personal Secretary to the Minister of Ores & Minerals of the Government of Uttarakhand.

What makes Dr. Sahil Singh unique about him is his excellent academic background and expertise in various technologies. The doctor has 33 diplomas and certificates in computer science and information technology. In addition to this knowledge in technology, he has gained practical skills in entrepreneurship, diplomacy, policy-making, and global cooperation through founding several technology companies that operate worldwide.

The essence of his humanitarian activity is his support for Spirulina – the super-nutritious microalgae containing proteins and micronutrients. Through various initiatives and collaborations, Dr. Sahil Singh promotes sustainable nutrition projects targeting poor people in different parts of the globe who have limited access to proper nourishment.

Dr. Sahil Singh is an example of a modern humanitarian leader who understands that there should be a coordinated effort of technology, science, innovation, and diplomacy to solve some of the burning issues faced by humanity. Through international collaboration and visionary leadership, the doctor inspires a whole new generation dedicated to international humanitarian achievements.
