JEE Main 2025 Session 2: Day 3 Exam Analysis, Student Reactions & Expert Reviews

The JEE Main 2025 Session 2 examination proceeded on Day 3 with thousands of hopeful engineers sitting for the BE/BTech paper at various centers. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administered the exam in computer-based test (CBT) mode, testing students on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Here is an in-depth analysis of today’s paper, encompassing difficulty level, reactions from students, and expert opinion.

JEE Main 2025 Day 3: Paper Analysis
As per students and experts, the exam was moderately difficult, with Mathematics being the most challenging section. Here’s a subject-wise analysis:

Mathematics: The most challenging section, with a combination of calculus, algebra, and coordinate geometry. Some students felt that the integration and probability-based questions were tricky.

Physics: Moderately challenging, with emphasis on modern physics, electromagnetism, and mechanics. Some numerical-based questions needed conceptual knowledge and rapid calculations.

Chemistry: The most straightforward of the three sections. The paper was evenly weighted with Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry, and there were lots of NCERT-based questions.

Student Reactions: Diverse Reactions on Paper Difficulty
Several students turned to social media sites to narrate their experiences after the exam. Some of the general reactions are given below:

“Maths was a little tricky, particularly probability and coordinate geometry.”

“Physics was balanced, but some numerical problems were long.”

“Chemistry was a savior! Primarily NCERT-based, hence easy.”

Though some students found the overall paper easy, others found it difficult to manage time due to long calculations in Maths and Physics.

Expert Analysis & Expected Cutoff
Subject experts have opined that the JEE Main 2025 Day 3 paper was of the same difficulty level as earlier sessions. Experts believe that students with 180+ marks will have a good opportunity to qualify for JEE Advanced 2025.

The anticipated cutoff for various categories as per initial trends:

General: 88-90 percentile

OBC-NCL: 73-76 percentile

SC/ST: 45-50 percentile

What’s Next for JEE Main 2025 Candidates?
The final answer key will be made available shortly on the NTA website (jeemain.nta.ac.in).

Applicants can contest the provisional answer key prior to the declaration of the final results.

The results of JEE Main 2025 Session 2 are due in April 2025, which will confirm eligibility for JEE Advanced 2025.

Final Thoughts
JEE Main 2025 Day 3 was a moderate to tough paper, with Mathematics being the most challenging. With limited sessions remaining, students appearing for the forthcoming exams must prioritize time management and conceptual clarity to score the highest.
